I saw “The Green Milel” (1999)on the telvision last night. It was one of those film I waited for to appear, and if not would have to rent. I’m way behind, but then there’s enough to see.
It so reminded me of “The shawshank Redemption” (1994), and has somewhat the same atmosphere. That’s one of my absolute favorites and this one messures up to it.I didn’t think I’d say that as it’s outstanding. But this one’s super as well. I was in a lump in my throath at the end. A very moving picture, and Tom Hanks is absolutely genious in it. Everyone else is as well – all mentioned no-one forgotten 🙂
There you go, the “quick” here has just discovered that the two films have the same instructor 🙂 . Well I take my hat of being able to make two such masterpieces, can’t be a coincidence – we have to keep an eye on him
So all I can say is, if you haven’t seen this or “The Shawshank Redemption” (1994) for that matter, then you have at least two films, for a real inside day. The latter also is recided in a prison and it seems to facinate our instructor. It’s also an interesting inviroment, as everything is blown up and out of porportion in a place like that, and even very little things (I wont say what things) get to mean a lot. Both film have fabolous acting performances and “The Shawshank Redemption” is with another favourite Morgan Freemanwho is just great. I’ve been a bit tired of Tom Hanks. Not that he’s not good, but he was everywhere. I must say that in this film, I loved him, every single secound, I admit that.
Both films is based on books by Stephen King, and can be borrowed on The library. The films can too acatually – so that’s a place to save money 🙂
“The Green Mile”, has a website too, as you can see here.
